Having grown up in Southern Illinois, I have been interested in the paranormal since a very young age. Hearing all the tales of the area, personal experiences and other people’s accounts of the paranormal, I decided to start researching this activity by using scientific equipment to try to prove or disprove the paranormal. I understand that some of the paranormal phenomenon that is being experienced if frightening and confusing. I try to help those who are experiencing such activity to understand what is going on. I was born in Herrin, Il. and raised in Bush, Il. Bush was originally established as a miner's community and was made up of several one room houses. There was very poor medical services available to the towns people and many of them died of very simple illnesses, but many families saw their share of tragedy. Living and growing up in Bush has given me an unusual insight into the world of the unknown. Growing up, I had a playmate in the basement of my Grandparent's house and only I could see this playmate and later found out that the little boy had been hit by a truck in front of the house and had died at home in 1914. This was the first of many experiences for me. I have always been interested in having the opportunity to prove or disprove the realities of the paranormal. I joined forces with other like minded individuals and helped establish the group S.I.G.H.S. I still reside in the Hurst/Bush area in Southern Illinois. I know the Southern Illinois area well and look forward to helping it's citizens prove or disprove the paranormal.

Having experienced many unexplained phenomena, I have become very interested in seeking out the truth on the paranormal. I had my first experience at the age of 16 when the house I lived in with my mother started having strange occurrences. Dark shadows and nightmares were only a part of the experiences I would have there. I learned later in life that you couldn’t be too skeptical of things you don’t understand, when my 1 year old played with a girl that died years before. From knocks and rapping to scratches and objects being thrown at me, I have experienced everything but a full body apparition. I don’t claim to know everything, if much at all about why we experience these things. But I am determined to find out what causes the things that go bump in the night. I go in with eyes wide open and hope to, one day, be able to say and prove there is life after death.

I was born in Frankfort, Kentucky and raised in Southern Illinois. I grew up listening to stories about haunted houses and ghosts walking among the living. I never believed any of them, even though they scared me half to death. One night, when I was about 21, I was sitting in my living room rocking my daughter to sleep. It was a hot night and the fan was on in the foyer. The fan kept shutting itself off. After a few frustrating trips into the foyer to turn the fan back on and finally got my daughter to sleep. While sitting there , in the rocking chair facing my T.V. and hallway entrance something caught my eye in the kitchen. I turned toward it and watched in shock as a stooped figure of an elderly lady walked along the wall and straight into my bedroom. After that, my family and I experienced regular occurances with this entity. At first, I was scared. Later, fear turned to curosity. I know! Curiosity killed the cat! Thank God I'm not a cat! When we decided to form the group S.I.G.H.S. with like minded individuals, I was more than happy to join. After years of trying to catch things with film and recordings on my own, I will now proudly work with a team. We are more than willing to help anyone who feels they have a problem.

I have always been interested by the paranormal. Seems like I’ve seen ‘shadows’ moving forever. I’ve also seen full-bodied apparitions and only once was it scary. I enjoy seeing these spirits and find it exciting to research them more. At the same time, I don’t believe every bump in the night is a spirit. I like finding out what is truly paranormal and what is caused by a ‘normal’ occurrence.

There have been several things that have intrigued my interest in the paranormal. It started at a very young age in which I had a ‘playmate’ which later I found out was the ghost of a ten year old girl. We played together and never knew the difference until I was older. As I grew older, I began to gain more knowledge and understanding of the paranormal and became more intrigued. I focus my research on not only the yearning to learn from it, but as a quest to prove that ghosts do exist by the use of scientific equipment and I hope to catch enough evidence to prove that they DO exist. In my investigations, I try to rule out all things that could possibly have an explanation and that which is left is unexplained or paranormal. I love this work and hope to carry on the tradition after college.
